Here’s how to stop sewer pump well overflows and reduce pump out costs!

In 2002 a leading Brisbane shopping centre had been having regular issues with its pumps fouling in the main sewer pump well…

Upon further investigation, most of the issues were caused by the build up of untreated waste on the walls, floats and pumps themselves within the pump well that was flowing through from the grease traps. The pump well was also having to be cleaned every 2 months and grease traps evacuated every 4 weeks.

Envirofriendly put a proposal together for centre management for our Preventative Maintenance Program for each of the food outlets in the centre. Our program was designed to treat the hydraulic trade waste lines from each of the outlets preventing smells and blockages and also speed up the break down of waste in the triple interceptors (grease traps) creating cleaner effluent flowing into the sewer pump well.

The pump well is now only cleaned every 6 months with grease trap evacuations every 12 weeks.
