Once established, L200, which is used in sewerage treatment systems. Will break down all manner of solids including paper, control odour causing bacteria, ensure the system performs more efficiently and improve the quality of any grey water produced by the system.

In a closed environment such as on board a vessel, the microbes will reduce the solids thus increasing the capacity of the holding tanks.

L200 will ensure any pump wells operate at their maximum efficiency by breaking down waste and reducing the potential for waste to solidify and cause pump blockages and stoppages.

In a marine environment while a vessel is in port onboard facilities will have a reduced usage. On return to sea they will encounter slug loads, or increased quantities of waste, and there may not be enough bacteria in the system to effectively degrade the increase as they will have died off – or been pumped out – while in port. Regular application of Envirofriendly products can maintain the required level of microbes to deal with slug loads and then to continue to treat the large amount of waste generated on a vessel at sea.

Any waste pumped out from a sewerage system while at sea will be impregnated with microbes which will continue to break down the waste, even in sea water.

The use of Drainsolv has already resulted in the reduction of costly, odorous and annoying pump out activities from once every four weeks to once every 13 weeks with Brisbane City Council approval.

UrinalKleen is coloured with blue food dye and will not stain any of the facilities.

Unlike competitive products, UrinalKleen can be used as a cleaning product for the entire washroom, not just the men’s urinals, as it can also be used in the toilet pedestals in both men’s and women’s toilets, as well as a cleaning agent for all tile floors and walls, washbasins and floor drains.

UrinalKleen is a liquid microbial suspension product rather than a dried bacterial culture. The liquid product flows easily through the pipe work and allows more microbes and more strains of microbes to settle in the waste.

FriendlyKleen can be used in showers and tile areas as a cleaning product which will break down the grease and soap scum and also contribute to controlling mould.

Any dried bacterial culture product will leave a residue that contains no added benefits in the pipe work which ultimately settles and increases waste build up in the pipes resulting in blockages.

THE PROCESS

All Envirofriendly products contain 14 different types of microbes that have been specially developed to break down various types of waste.

The products have each been specifically prepared and branded to suit a particular type of waste management problem, but if the client has unique issues then modifications can be made to ensure the right cross section of microbes are included in the end product.

All microbes are naturally occurring, are non toxic and will not harm humans or animals.

Each millilitre of product contains about 40 trillion microbes in suspension where they can survive almost indefinitely.

Once exposed to oxygen and a food source the microbes immediately begin to attack the waste. The microbes reproduce every 20 minutes and build colonies in the waste, either in suspension or in any that may be attached to pipe work or tank walls.

The microbes are both aerobic and anaerobic and will settle throughout the water and waste column.

While there is a mortality rate due to some microbes feeding off others and being affected by very hot water, very hot grease and other waste contents, a regular dosing of product maintains the build up of microbes allowing them to continue to work within the system effectively.

THE DIFFERENCES

Chemical products will indiscriminately kill all bacteria that create odour and waste build up problems. While chemical products may break down blockages, they only move the waste further into the system where it still has to be treated. It also has the potential to solidify further into the system creating greater and more costly problems.

Microbial waste management involves the introduction of naturally occurring microbes into closed loop waste systems and to systems that feed into council managed sewers. The microbes have been developed to break down the bacteria, grease and other waste.

The correct microbial products applied to a waste system will assist in degrading waste rather than just moving it further into the system. They will also enhance the effects of naturally occurring microbes already in the waste and speed up the breakdown of solids including paper and other bacteria that causes odours and other toxic gases.
